His Worship The Mayor Cllr. Michael Hourigan entertained a delegation from Spokane. The delegation arrived on the 12th September, 2004 and left on the 14th September, 2004.
The Limerick- Spokane sister-city relationship was officially begun on March 4, 1990 when the Mayors of Spokane and Limerick signed a joint agreement linking the two cities.
Foremost amongst the objectives of the relationship is to foster and encourage bonds of friendship and understanding between the two cities and to bring events of Irish culture to Spokane.
