Development Plan 2004-2010


The City Council at its meeting held on the 22 November 2004 adopted the new Development Plan 2004 for the city after a two year period of public consultation. It is a six-year plan, which came into force on the 20th December 2004, and will operate until December 2010.

The primary goals and objectives of the new Development Plan are to guide development of the City over the coming years, so as to promote sustainable and orderly development.

Limerick's new Development Plan comprises a 7 part written document comprising the goals, policies and actions which the city wishes to pursue during the life of the plan. In addition it is supported by a series of 4 Maps detailing the Land Use Zoning, Conservation, Amenity and Roads objectives of the plan.

Copies of the new Development Plan 2004 are available from the offices of the Department of Planning and Development, City Hall, Merchants Quay, Limerick in CD Rom or Hard Back format, at a cost of € 100 for hard copy, € 10 CD Rom and full coloured printed Maps at €15. The complete document is also available below in PDF format.

Formal printed copies of the new Development Plan 2004 will be available early in the New Year, in both English and Irish languages.
