New award for the development of Youth Arts Ensembles
The Arts Council will pilot a new funding scheme for youth arts ensembles and resource organisations this year.
The fund will target groups of young people working collaboratively to create art, and the resource organisations that support them. Examples of ensembles may include a youth orchestra; youth choir; band; youth theatre; film or digital media group; dance group; a group of young visual artists working collaboratively to create an exhibition of work (or a single, collaborative art work, such as a mural or graffiti piece); a poetry or writing group; or a group that works together to combine a number of artforms into a single performance/event.
The fund forms part of the Arts Council's strategy to create better opportunities for young people to experience the arts, as outlined in Partnership for the Arts.
Full details on this award will be available in April. For a copy of the application pack please email Mathilde.veldt@artscouncil.ie or consult the Arts Council website http://www.artscouncil.ie
