St. Patrick's Day at the Hunt Museum
Serving Limerick and the Mid West
St Patrick’s Day 2010 at The Hunt Museum, Limerick
Home of a collection of treasures given to the people of Ireland the museum will mark our national feast day by acknowledging the qualities of its own collection, our common history and Ireland’s evolving national narrative.
Tuesday 16th March
1.00pm - Free Public Lecture: St Patrick of Ireland: Myth and Reality
In this lecture Cillian de Grás, Curator of Education and Research at The Hunt Museum, will look at the life and legend of St. Patrick. Where did he come from? Did he really get rid of all the snakes from Ireland? And was his mission so successful?
Wednesday 17th March: St Patrick’s Day
3.00pm: Turas Treoriathe tri Ghaeilge!
Foghlaim faoin bailiúcháin éagsúil, iontach ar an turas treoraithe seo.
Guided tour in Irish. Lean about the breadth and variety of The Hunt Collection with this tour as Gaeilge, to celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge.
4.00 pm: The Golden String Duo in The Captain’s Room
An afternoon concert of Classical music and Irish melodies by Limerick-based cello duo, Livia Nagy and Peter Sebestyen (small admission charge applies: €5.00 – free for under 14s).
