The records of Mount St Lawrence Cemetery provide a unique insight on the history of Limerick and its citizens for the period 1855-2008. The records contain the names, addresses at time of death, ages, position of the grave and dates of death of all those buried in the cemetery. Under the Limerick Corporation Act 1853, the city was divided into eight electoral wards, Abbey Ward; Castle Ward; Custom House Ward; Dock Ward; Glentworth Ward; Irishtown Ward; Market Ward and Shannon Ward. These wards formed the basis under which the valuation books are organised. This collection lists the rateable valuation for property in Limerick city, and also records any revisions to the valuation of the property and the owner and occupiers of the property

As the volume is out of print and yet is in high demand, Limerick City Archives decided to digitise this volume as a companion to the archive collections. The text is fully searchable.
